The work of Los Angeles based artist, Kristin duCharme, traverses over the line of convention and unspoken yet socially agreed upon rules. Often her work is activated by something as simple as alternating view points in order to raise questions about what we thought we knew. The humor and Dada-ish overtones of duCharme’s works are punctuated with a lump-in-the-throat seriousness when the viewer is struck by a quiet familiarity of the subject mater as personal.
